Best Disney World Resort For Teenagers

Picking a hotel once your little ones aren’t so little anymore can really make or break the trip. Teenagers want their independence so it is probably best to stick with a resort that offers them the ability to do their own things. My personal recommendation would be either the Polynesian or the Yacht & Beach Club resorts.

The Polynesian

One of the most attractive features for the Polynesian is that it is located on the monorail line. This allows your teens easy access to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot without having to worry about buses. This comes in handy for families with little ones who may tucker out earlier in the evening, while the older kids want to keep going. Also, the Polynesian has a wonderful theme that the whole family will enjoy. The Polynesian offers the Nanea Volcano pool and the beach where your kids can layout on hammocks while watching the boats sail across the Seven Seas Lagoon. I almost forgot to mention that you will be in for a nightly treat with amazing views of the Magic Kingdom’s firework display.

Yacht & Beach Club

To us Disney’s Boardwalk is one of the resorts best kept secrets. Most people assume the area is more or less just a hotel and nothing more. Boy, are they wrong! The Boardwalk has so much to offer, but at the same time is way more relaxed than Downtown Disney (soon to be Disney Springs). This ideal location makes the Beach Club resort our other ideal pick when vacationing with teenagers. Your teens will be able to walk (or bike) the Boardwalk and they also have easy access to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. A small ferry boat runs from the boardwalk to both parks throughout the day and once you’re teenagers reach Epcot they’ll have easy access to the monorail line to the Magic Kingdom. The Yacht and Beach Club also has one of the best pools out of all the Disney resorts. Disney doesn’t even refer to the area as a pool, but as a 3-acre water wonderland! The area features a lazy river, shipwreck replica, water slides, and even a sand-bottomed pool. The resort also features a sandy beach area where they have various activities nightly, such as movie night.

Regardless of where you stay keep in mind that Disney’s bus system is very safe and efficient. They will get you wherever you need to go on the property, but your travel time will be a bit longer.
