Disney Professional Internship Housing

Finding housing for your Disney Professional Internship can be somewhat stressful. Disney does offer a limited amount of housing to non-management interns, but those are only available on a first come first serve basis and go extremely fast. If you aren’t able to find housing under the Disney umbrella, there a few options for short-term rentals located in the Disney area. Most of the apartment complexes are going to ask for a seven month lease at the minimum to avoid paying a short term rental tax, but that doesn’t mean you cannot find rentals through private owners.

A former intern I recently spoke with highly recommends searching private vacation rental sites to find short term accommodations. Sites such as Airbnb, VRBO, and Homeaway all list numerous properties in the Orlando area for rent. Keep in mind you may pay a slight premium for these rentals which is typical of all short term rentals. Think of it like buying in bulk from Sam’s Club or Costco, if you buy the whole crate you get the better deal, or the longer the lease the lower the monthly price.

A personal recommendation is to stick to areas you know if you’ve done a previous college program. If you’re completely unfamiliar with the area… Lake Buena Vista, Dr. Phillips, Little Lake Bryan, and Williamsburg are all places you can search. These are all nice areas located near the theme parks. Kissimmee may have a lot of options, but be careful as Kissimmee has it’s good and bad areas.

Edit: Our former intern source highly recommends this condo that they rented for the program located right near college program housing.
